Minnesota Brass and the competing corps at “Sounds of Minnesota” -- the 2010 version of the annual MBI home show in South St. Paul was another resounding success with warm, warm weather, lots of sunshine and a stadium full of enthusiastic drum corps fans.
For those of you who were there, we are anxious to get your feedback about the show ! You still have a chance at winning the $100 prize which will be drawn on Sunday, September 12 from all the fans who completed the fan survey in one of three ways (at the show, through snail mail, or on-line) and provided some form of contact information to find them after the drawing.
If you did not complete the 2010 Sounds of Minnesota Fan Survey at the show or through the mail, we would like you to complete our on-line version of the fan survey. It will take you less than five minutes and is easy to do. Just click on the "More" icon below, complete the survey and press “Done.”

How fast the season has flown by! There are just a handful of chances to see the 2010 edition of Minnesota Brass so mark your calendar today! August has traditionally been a fantastic month for the corps as members achieve new levels of individual excellence and the production takes on its final polish and adjustments.
August 21/22: Drum Corps Expo and Sounds of Minnesota
The final two drum corps shows of the year in Minnesota are in St. Peter (August 21 at 5 p.m. at St. Peter High School) and South Saint Paul (August 22 at 4 p.m. at South Saint Paul High School). Come see all of the DCA-Central region drum corps in performance including the Govenaires (St. Peter), Kilties (Racine, Wis.), Vigilantes (Richardson, Texas) and, new this year, High Country Brass (Golden, Col.) Sounds of Minnesota is the last competition for Minnesota Brass prior to the DCA Championships Preliminary competition on September 4.
August 28: District 11 Preview Show
For several years, Minnesota Brass has done a full, uniformed exhibition at the District 11 Preview show. This year the show will be Andover High School in Andover and it starts at 7 p.m.

It's a night Minnesota drum corps fans will remember for a very long time. After months of preparation and incredible planning, DCI Minnesota's debut was a remarkable night of drum corps, fan patience and inclement weather. There is only one drum corps show in the Twin Cities where you can see Minnesota Brass at its season best. Sounds of Minnesota on Sunday, August 22 is less then two weeks before DCA finals and MBI will be on its final push for performance excellence. It is the last chance to see the corps perform in full show mode in 2010 without traveling to New York.
The 2010 Sounds of Minnesota show will once again be held at South St Paul High School's Ettinger Field. The naturally bowled stadium delivers an up close and in you face feel that is perfect for the entertaining style of DCA drum corps. The 2010 line-up includes: Minnesota Brass, Govenaires, Kilties, Vigilantes, High County Brass, and Minne-Brass.

Minnesota Brass is pleased to announce scholarship recipients for the 2010 System Blue Marching Skills Camp to be held from July 14th to 17th at the University of Minnesota. This is a 4-day intensive music, marching and guard camp, taught by the instructors of the Blue Devils and Santa Clara Vanguard. A broad range of band skills will be studied, including sessions on skills needed for the outdoor marching activity. Participants will work in both small groups and large ensembles, including opportunities to play alongside current members
of the Blue Devils and Vanguard.
